Got home from our cruise yesterday! We and another couple we are good friends with took the cruise together. We had a wonderful time hanging out together with no schedules to keep up with.
It was our first time to try the Carnival Triumph and we unpgraded to a balcony cabin...now I'm spoiled! It was so nice to be able to sit on our own balcony and enjoy the peace without having to fight for a place to chill on deck. We even ate our breakfast there one morning.
The food was good and of course we all ate too much even though we tried not to. Now it's time to get back into the routine of making good choices and I can't wait to go back in for another adjustment next week. I know I'm still not at restriction like I was before my surgery and I really need to be back there soon!
It's been 2 years since our last cruise, (which was one month before my lap band surgery), and what a difference in fun and activities. I was able to enjoy any and everything I wanted on the ship and not feel uncomfortable. I could maneuver through tight areas and I was not embarrassed to hang out by the pool in my bathing suit.
We took the snorkeling and beach party excursion in Cozumel on Saturday and had a great time. I was not worn out from trying to maneuver to see the fish and dive under to get closer. And the best part was that this time I was able to enjoy playing on the water toys at the beach. Last time I had to just sit and watch my husband and daughters enjoy swimming out and climbing on the water toys. This time I got to swim out and climb and slide down the toys too! I couldn't believe how I was able to pull myself up on the equipment and not fall off.
A rain storm even came up while we were on the beach and made it a little chilly, but we still made the best of it. On the boat ride back to ship, it was still raining, but we were wet anyway, so we got out on the deck and danced in the rain with the crew! I never thought I would ever be comfortable enough to do anything like that!
These next few weeks will be crazy busy with end of year stuff, so this was a great break from reality to unwind and refresh. Now I'm ready to finish out this crazy school year and summer.
Until next time,
Lisa B.
