Just got back from our family vacation on Tybee Island, GA. It felt SO great to have so much energy! We did a lot of walking and playing in the ocean. Enjoyed good seafood and sunsets.
I decided to enjoy myself and not be so strict on my food choices; especially since we did a lot of walking everywhere. I will say that I only gained 2 pounds and quite happy with myself.
Besides, I was able to climb to the top of Tybee Lighthouse without having to stop and catch my breath (we just stopped to look out the windows along the way). The last lighthouse I climbed, I had to stop at every landing to catch my breath and wear a knee brace (that is long gone too).
We also took a deep sea fishing expedition for 4 hours. That was another first for me. I will admit that I did "lose my cookies" (although I didn't have anything in my stomach), but at least I waited until we were finished fishing. The best part was that we all ended up catching a shark! Boy can they put up a fight...even the little ones! But it was fun!!
I also took a step way out of my comfort zone when my girls and I decided to take a 2 hour private surf lesson. Never thought I would have the guts to even try, but decided I needed to branch out and bit the bullet so to speak. Wow! It was major fun and a full body workout to boot. I don't think there was a place on my body that wasn't sore the next morning, but it was darn well worth every sore muscle and bruised kneecaps! Oh yeah, I even was able to stand on my board (for a few seconds anyway), by the end of the lesson!
All in all, I had a great time and enjoyed all the new freedom I felt in my new body!!! Can't wait to see what my next adventure will be!
Until next time,
Lisa B.
