OK, so I went yesterday to meet the personal trainer at the gym. He showed me how to work each piece of equipment and then had me get on each one and try it to make sure I understood how to do it, get the correct settings and set me up with a workout routine. And this morning, I went to start my workout. Felt a little intimidating to go to the gym alone, but after a few minutes, I felt quite energized and forgot about the whole thing. I was going to try and make an early class to see if it was something that I could do, but didn't make it in time, but ran into a friend from church that also goes there and we got to talking and she said to come on Friday, that there were people at all levels of fitness. So I think Friday morning I will go and check it out! I did the whole circuit of machines today and it felt really good. I can tell I have a long way to go, but am motivated to kick my butt into shape.
