So, surgery went as scheduled and all went well. I was surprised at how fast I was in and out of the hospital! I checked in at about 6:45 a.m. and left at a little after 11:00 a.m. My surgery was scheduled for 8:30, but was not taken back until 9:05, so not too far off schedule.
I must say that nausua was my biggest enemy yesterday, especially riding home in the car. We had to stop twice for it to pass and evertime I was up and walking, I got sick also. I laid in bed and slept most of yesterday. I mostly had ice chips to keep me hydrated and little sugar-free jello later that night.
The gas is a little uncomfortable and does make it hard to take a deep breath, but kept making myself breath deep to keep my lungs healthy. I also got up and walked to keep the risk of blood clots down and if I didn't feel like walking, I would excercise my legs in bed.
Today, I feel like a whole diffferent person! I have been up and about most of today, taken a few cat naps when I got tired. I've used my pain medicine, but only 1/2 dose...I save the full dose for bedtime. I've eaten a good amount of chicken broth, jello, water, but the best thing I've had today was a glass of skim milk! Never thought I would say skim milk tasted good, but it sure as heck did!
Gaviscon has helped with the gas pressure and I have periodically iced my stomach to help with inflammation. I took a shower this morning and my stomach looks like a bandaid road map! LOL!!
